Avid Link constantly re-installs Falcon and fails anyway

Hello. I hope this is in the right section of the forum.
Every time I launch Avid Link (so every time I reboot, for example), it thinks there is an update to Falcon AAX (2.1.7). But Falcon AAX is already installed. Somehow I have Avid Link set to auto-install updates, so it tries installing Falcon again. Sometimes an error window says it doesn't have permission, other times it asks for my password, which I enter correctly, but it still fails. Other times it finishes with no message of success or failure, and the "Install" button re-appears as if it isn't installed. Bizarre.
FWIW, Falcon does work when I open Pro Tools, so the only thing broken is Avid Link.

For troubleshooting, I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Avid Link. I've also tried installing Falcon AAX outside of Avid Link.
I did a fresh macOS install back in July.

The "solution" for now is to uninstall Avid Link completely, but I was curious if anyone has this problem. Thanks for any ideas.

go to yer act on the site.. this whorish app that has it Bs adverts all over it barely works and for the longest time had me logging in everytime.. SW I guess is not their "thing" over at Avid

Agreed, Avid Link has never been great, that's for sure.

Most people uninstall Avid Link and do updates going direct to thei Avid account.

Indeed. That's a manual process though, it'd be nice to see when updates are available automatically.
