003R PT9 MacPro problem

Ok, so I've returned from holidays and the 003R will not work anymore.
It powers up, is recognised by the system (MacOSX.6.5), ProTools 9 is working with my RME FF800 (with no issues).

However, when I switch over to the 003R, it will not work and crashes PT9.

I've been through all the regular trouble shooting procedures and re-installed the PT9 CoreAudio drivers, 9.0.1 etc etc...
The 003R is not available in the AudioMidi setup for Core Audio.

I just keep getting DAE error -10.
Searching the AVID knowledge base revealed that there doesn't seem to be any knowledge about DAE errors, so I can't check to see what -10 is.

Note: The 003R is available in the presented hardware list when holding the 'N' on launch. When selected, the app takes an eternity to finish loading. I am then given the session loading window...... then 'Cannot communicate with the 003...." crash!!

So to summ up, PT9 is working well for me, except that I cannot use the Digi hardware. WTF!?


Update: Further investigation reveals that it might be a conflict with the latest FF800 RME driver. If I have the FF800 completely turned off, I can get things working.

I wish Digi would release an actual (conforming to the spec) Core Audio Driver.

there is a driver update for PT9 for the 003. not sure if that will solve your problem.
