PT 7.3.1 crashes when mass editing

okay so i have a session that i needed to trim stuff to shorten the length for the single version of the track. i selected the section i wanted cut, deleted it. now ive hilighted the regions that i need to move over. i moved it part way and it was fine. but it seems as though every time i try to drag the selection over this one area it give beachball then crashes!
ive trashed prefs, volume etc.

im on a deadline! helppppp

Are you using a dedicated audio drive?

The same has happened to me, which is why I just decided to use markers and drag two at a time... Have you figured out why that happens, or how to fix it? I also have a dedicated drive for audio...
