Default Re: Solution to the error -9514 on Windows 8 (memory / cache / DAE buffer)

Shane, THANK YOU! IT WORKED!!! Now, may I ask "WHY" it worked and what the heck I just did??? :) No SQL expert at all. But I assume this has something to do with some aspect of a SQL engine??? Now, I just did this using 10.3.1. Should I leave that alone and not worry about 10.3.3 at all at this point or do you think this will carry over to it if I try to go back to the latest ver?

Hopefully I won't have any further issues.... THANKS!!!!

It would be hard for me to explain it in basic layman's terms without typing out a long winded essay. It's a memory thing. If this is working for you as reported, then go start recording.

Glad to hear it worked.

Shane

That is the one of the privileges installer sets up which naturally needs some tweak in Win 8.

Thanks guys so very much. I'm back in business! And I did apply the 10.3.4 upgrade and it worked fine with no hitch. Hopefully will not have any further issues.

I'm also looking forward to the true 64bit version some day. Hopefully that's in the works!

All my best and thanks again!
Isaac

Wrestled for 2 days and the answer was: Just Reinstall Avid HD Driver x64 after PT is done installing.

Go to your protools install folder and navigate to the ISSetupPrerequisites folder.
C:\Pro Tools Avid Pro Tools HD 10.3.2 Windows\Pro Tools Installer\ISSetupPrerequisites\Avid HD Driver x64

Click the Avid HD Driver x64 Folder
Run the installer as admin

Now in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Avid\Pro Tools

Right Click the ProTools.exe App and choose "Properties"
Select to launch ProTools.exe in compatibility mode for Win7
Select to launch ProTools.exe as admin

Relaunch ProTools..
Voila!!
