Default export consolidated stems ??

hi guys,

I wanting to know how to export each track separately as a consolidated WAV.

The only way i know how to this at the moment is to solo a track and bounce it. but this is becoming near impossible for larger projects. as it takes a couple of hours to do 20 tracks in a 5min tune.

I know protools has to export in real time, but there must be a quicker way of doing this. maby consolidating the files and then draging them from the session folder??

Please help.

What you are describing is called Bounce to Disk, and does indeed need to be done in real time. But to export the tracks, there is a faster and easier way. Consolidate each track(click on a region and select all with option-A??) by highlighting the entire track and go Edit>Consolidate Region. Then highlight all the tracks(easy if you zoom out and shrink track height) and go to the regions bin. All tracks should be highlighted in the regions bin so you can choose Export Regions as Files(I usually send them all to a oflder on the desktop).

+1 to Albee's method, just a couple notes:

I generally drop the cursor at the end of the longest track, press shift-return to highlight to beginning of session and consolidate all tracks to that length so that the final exported regions all end up same length. Then if you import them to another session or send them off, they all have the same start point and are therefore in sync with each other.

Remember, your plug-ins (if you have any on the tracks) will NOT be included in those consolidated files.

No worries, you were right on, just thought I'd expand a touch. It would definitely be nice if everything were the same. It's especially weird because a control key does exist on a mac keyboard, but command functions more like the windows control key...

Yes, good point. If you have any plugs and you want to process them, you could save the settings then recall them in the Audiosuite version of the plug if one exists, then process the consolidated region with that.
