Default Plugins require authorization after activation..

Pardon my ignorance. I'm recently new to Mac and Pro Tools. I'm making the leap from Sonar to PT 8. I just got my eleven rack in and have installed it according to the directions specified. I installed Pro Tools according to directions as well. My problem is that I when I go to open PT, all of my plugins say they need to be authorized. Do I need the iLok? It wasn't included in my eleven rack bundle.

I will also back up and state that before my eleven rack purchase, I've installed the PT 7 demo, and did a clean uninstall. I also installed the full 7.1 and did a clean uninstall prior to installing PT 8. I feel that might be causing conflict... Not certain though.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to get deep into 8 with as little headache as possible.

Thanks,
-Chris

These plugins aren't included in the standard version of PT. They are just on the installer disc for your convenience. There is two ways of getting rid of these "Authorization" messages:
  1. Buy the licenses and put them on an iLok.
    You could look for them @ eBay. Some are quite cheap there these days.
  2. Move theses plugins to the "Plug-Ins (Unused)" folder.
    You'll find it next to your "Plug-Ins" folder in "Macintosh HD -> Library -> Application Support -> Digidesign".

Thumbs down Re: Plugins require authorization after activation..

Included and not included Pro Tools 8 and Eleven Rack Plugins.
I far as I understand, a lot of plugins are installed, without having a license for them. Strangely enough the plugins for which I did get a license are not installed and therefore have to be downloaded (1GB+).
Do I really have to delete or move them manually out of the plugin folder to prevent clicking quit during PT launch for many times?

I don't see the convenience! They should have let them out and include the plugins mentioned below, that would have been convenient!

Those have to be downloaded:

* FXpansion BFD Lite v8 (Win)
* 948.45 MB
* Download ›

* FXpansion BFD Lite v8 (Mac)
* 962.27 MB
* Download ›

* Celemony Melodyne Essential v8 (Win)
* 24.23 MB
* Download ›

* Celemony Melodyne Essential v8 (Mac)
* 28.65 MB
* Download ›

* Torq LE v8 (Win)
* 209.93 MB
* Download ›

* Torq LE v8 (Mac)
* 234.52 MB
* Download ›

Are those trials or really working unlimited?

You don't have to manually pick the plugs that doesn't have authorization. After you launch tools, and cancel the authorization process, pro tools should ask you if it should put the unauthorized plugs into the unused plug folder, simply click yes.

Those simple, let's say light versions of plugs you've mentioned are near useless imho. They are there to try out, and buy the full versions soon. It's marketing...
