Can somebody tell me where the 'Solo Follows Selection' preference is?
I cannot seem to find it anywhere.
Other than that the New Playlist comp. function is super fast.

You need to install the CS1 patch to be able to use this feature

As for me, I feel the comping feature is half done. Besides other things mentioned we need automatic playlist creation option without having to loop record. I hate dragging new clip down after every record pass. All this mousing around makes me sick, especially when you get past 15-20 takes.

"What happens at this point: The alternative Take changes only on one singular track - not on all grouped tracks !!! This is a huge bug, Digi! In 7.4 this has not been the case. Please fix this as soon as possible."

I have run into exactly the same thing. Hoping someone can point out that we are doing something wrong - or at least we can get some confirmation that others are running into the same issue.

Thanks,
Jared

I actually coded a script to do exactly that awhile back but the main problem is the DAE engine. No matter how small you make the DAE disk buffer size and cache size, PT will always stutter, hiccup or lag when changing. Of course the faster the computer, the better. My script did the Solo Follows Selection and it was great to see, but not that functional when I actually used it. Since not all machines can handle the small DAE disk and cache sizes, I would imagine this was the main barrier for Digi to implement a "Solo follows Selection" feature but I can only speculate from my actual use of it with my script.

As a side note though, I just got another idea that may pull this off. I'll have to give it a whirl and revisit this.

Use, "Expand Alternates to new Playlists" after you recorded all your passes instead of dragging them down one at a time. I do wish we had a native shortcut key in PT to invoke that command instead of right clicking though. I hate mousing around. Nonetheless, it's still fairly quick over dragging the takes down one at a time.

Hope that helps.

With a well implemented user definable shortcut/actions feature in PT, we would be able to do all the cool QuicKeys, AutoHotkey and AppleScript stuff in PT itself natively. Since they are obviously running out of key bindings, I hope we see this one day. I just hope they dont botch it up as they have the opportunity to make it very powerful and very simple. Hopefully in the near future.
