Default 002/003 Mountain Lion driver bugs

The latest version of the 002/003 driver installer for Mountain Lion has several bugs evidently. Firstly the MIDI system keeps crashing.

Here is the crash log:
https://gist.github.com/gistya/5087224

Here is the console messages from the crash:
https://gist.github.com/gistya/5087232

Secondly once I have the 002 selected as audio input and output in my System Preferences, then YouTube videos will not play in Safari. I have had lots of problems getting it to work. It is accompanied with these errors on the console:

3/4/13 4:50:14.003 PM sandboxd[1022]: ([950]) WebProcess(950) deny mach-lookup DigiCoreAudioServer
Full report: https://gist.github.com/gistya/5087269

3/4/13 4:50:11.995 PM sandboxd[1022]: ([950]) WebProcess(950) deny file-read-data /Applications/Digidesign/Digi CoreAudio Manager.app
Full report: https://gist.github.com/gistya/5087279

Evidently the sandboxd is blocking access to the DigiCoreAudioServer. Why would it do that?
I have a feeling it has to do with the permissions that the installer is using. But I'm not sure.

I've had problems getting any audio out of my 002 that wasn't coming from ProTools. Evidently this is a known issue (http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...on-Mac-OS-10-8) but I'm afraid that 002 support stops tomorrow 3/13/13!

I guess we have no hope for any future for the 002?

I just posted this in a similar thread:

I'm running Mountain Lion (OS 10.8.2) on a MacMini, and I am successfully running Pro Tools LE 8.0.5 and Adobe Audition with the Digi CoreAudio driver version 8.0.5 and the Digi002 console. I recently attempted to update it to the newest release, but it caused all kinds of problems and I wound up having to do a deep uninstall of Pro Tools, and then start over.

This is the actual filename of the disk image of the driver:

002_and_003_Family_Drivers_v90_r3_73509.dmg

Go here: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...02-003-Drivers and download the file with the release date of October 20, 2011.

If you already have the more recent driver installed, I think you may have to first do the deep (clean?) Pro Tools uninstall so it gets rid of everything before you can use the 2011 release of the driver.

Oh... I should also point out that using this driver may cause some other oddities: some online videos will play, others won't. Even audio files present on your HD may buzz if you try to preview them in the Finder by selecting the file and pressing the space bar.

Good luck!

I´m running my Digi 002 Console on a OSX 10.8.3 and PT 10.3.4 on a Mac Mini Server i7, 2.0 GHz with 8 GB RAM - just to confirm that it works...

Default Re: 002/003 Mountain Lion driver bugs

I am currently running into the same problems with my new Mac Mini i7 2.6 -16GB running (trying to) PT8.05 on OS X 10.8.3. It's throwing Crash errors, slowing everything down. Cannot open Line 6 gearbox or any supporting line6 apps. The minute I uninstall protools (using protools uninstaller) and the tech tool (from the 8.05 upgrade) to clean everything again for good measure all my other apps work and the system starts to hum again as it should.

My guess there is an 32-bit to 64-bit incompatibility with ProTools 8.05 and OS X 10.8.3 (again my guess). I would imagine I will keep the 002R and purchase the Eleven Rack which comes with the newest version of ProTools instead of just purchasing the PT upgrade to 10.xx. Make more sense plus new rack gear :)
