I must admit
After one happy year with my 001. I broke down crying because of all the things i have missed due to no time code ruler. So here's one for digi.
Optional kit for the 001 A USD DEVICE Post Conform Tool Timecode ruler I would pay for this, any one with me. |

while this is a real inconvenience, there are workarounds. you could stripe a blank movie with the timecode you need (i do this!) and refer to the video monitor.
there is a math formula to convert smpte to abs and vise versa. its not a real problem with these solutions. if a client has a video cassette and a smpte timesheet i will just make a 320/240 version of the movie, compress the crap out of it, and use the timeline from the movie to spot. actually i dont really use the smpte exactly always, as hits and punches are subjective. just nudge the soundfiles until they match the video. i am always amazed how much better this works in the end |
