2021.6 Color Palette is way too tall now...

I usually leave the color palette open (so I can easily re-color groups of clips for my mixers to more easily navigate a busy session) - but now it's got this big extra chin that's making it spill over the time ruler and the marker ruler (I attached a screenshot). Do we really need the UI customization to be in the color palette window? I feel like I'm going to use that section once, then almost never again.

I have to agree. I'm a little obsessive over microscopic details in window positioning, and this one is more than irritating.
I was disappointed, and thought it was all about color choices at first, but no - especially since we still can't truly customize our color choices for tracks. I'd really like to see a grayscale row, or simply a row where you can choose anything on the colorwheel.

They could easily have left this window exactly the same size, and placed the "UI Customization" button at the top - next to "Hold", which when clicked would only then add the chin and necessary controls - and collapse back once you're done.

Agreed! My current workaround (for where I've got it positioned) is to add two more rulers to the edit window. I usually only have the timecode and markers ruler open, adding the Bars|Beats and Mins:Secs rulers makes it not overlap important UI elements. Still makes me lose a track or two height-wise in my display, though.

So I've been asking for this for a while, I think it would be a good idea if instead of or in addition to the color palette being a floating window, I wish we could right click on the color bar in the edit or mix window and it would pull up the color pallete right there where our mouse is, then when we select the color we want, then it goes away. Thoughts?

I agree. I like the new customization, though. I thought it could be its own UI... menu item under Windows.

I quite like that, but it should definitely be an addition.
I often like to select multiple tracks and see what colors have already been assigned by glancing at the palette.

Hmmm, interesting that some like to keep the color menu up all the time. Personally, I wish the menu looked the same as before, but with an extra button for "More Options". Having said that, it makes me miss my 3rd screen, which would have been handy for keeping the color palette up but out of the way.

I also leave the colour window open all the time. Weird to have UI Customization under there...at least you can toggle between Dark/Classic without relaunching.

I agree with the "more options" idea. But I have kept my 3rd screen so for me it's not an issue.

Agreed. It seems like a silly thing to complain about but I keep the colour palette open in the tool bar of my edit window and appreciated that it used to tuck in that space almost perfectly. With "The Chin" it now hangs into the rulers. I would put the UI customization in the Setup menu or make it a window openable through the Window menu.
