You need to set the main window to Bar:Beats and set a grid value from the grid window.

Also, use Identify Beat to change tempo.

Hope this helps.

very strange couse i dont have any vertical grid lines !!(m not sure its the right word ) . but even when you'r on slip/shuffle mode you have a grid which is connected to the main time mode (bars,beats/mins secs/

but on a session i'm working on right now
there is no grid what so ever ...

still i can move regions though the selected quantize steps BUT i cant see them ,,,,

also !!
when i stratch the work space(apple+ { } )
it takes too many Msecs to do it ,every time i "ask" the system to do that it looks like a freeze activity is comming ...
any idea ?

Sounds like the problem is what Obsessed is describing. In the top left above the track I/O in the Edit window, you'll see the timeline types -- Bars/Beats, Min/Sec, etc. There is a little radio button beside them. Click on this button.

Unfortunately nobody can be told what the Matrix™ is...

(had to be expecting that one...)

So you're looking for a visual grid on the edit window? Not sure if that's possible, but probably an option somewhere.

(quantizing is lame anyways )

There is a button in the upper left of the edit window just above the your top track. Put it in grid mode and start hitting them all. I don't have access to a pt screen right now otherwise i'd give more specifics.

peace
