Default Delay Compensation

I must be making some basic mistake on applying delay compensation. I have short delay enabled, and the system delay shows as 1024 samples. To test delay compensation, I inserted 5 AIR plugins (reverbs, pitch shift, etc.). However, the Delay Compensation View shows no delay and no compensation. That doesn't seem right.

I guess I must be missing something basic. I tried it on a aux track with the same results. Besides, delay is delay. Why would it be different on an audio track than on an aux track?

If you are not using HD than most plug ins have no delay. Try putting an L3 or impulse response reverb on a channel.
Best

Do the AIR plugins induce any delay?
They might be (should be) zero latency. So the Delay counter would read zero in that case.
I'm not 100% sure on this, but that might be why you aren't seeing any delay with them.

Thanks,
GregJ

Control click the Volume indicator to see what the latency of a plug-in actually is. If there is none, there will be no compensation. Insert Ozone4 and take a look.

Thanks. I see what you mean about Ozone, a delay of 1300 samples.
