Default What would you most like to see improved in PT?

Inspired from a thread I stumbled upon in the TDM section, I thought we could have our own similar discussion for LE users, as a lot of features aren't compatible between TDM/HD and LE. In your opinion, what are some features, however simple or complex, that Digidesign can change, facilitate, improve upon or implement in future PT LE updates?

I suppose we could also state our joy in recent improvements that are already in effect.

I'll start with these, which I'm highly looking forward to using when I switch to OSX/PT6.

1- single key comands
2- selecting multiple regions 'lasso' style

Mix snapshot and capability to write new automation to each new playlist for a track with full recall.

I have to agree with ru2b12, I NEED BEAT DETECTIVE!!! I also agree that Digitranslator should be free.

They should give the option to bounce to disk in real time or do it as fast at the processor can do it. This could save a lot of us, a lot of time. Especially if your are in the recording phase of the project and you are bouncing practice CD's for the rest of the band to practice to before they do their overdubs. No need for effects, just a rough mix with the correct tempo and such. Just a thought. Hope others agree with me.

In agreeance with everyone so far.

My biggest wish would be to see RTAS instruments routed the same way as in Logic. Simply inert the plug (ie: Kontakt) on the "instrument track" and play away, with no need to open a midi + aux + audio track for each sound. The midi data is recorded and the sound is automatically bussed to the main outs.

Amen to that "Bounce to Disk" in other than real time request. Used to be that way in PT 4 (for bounces to AIFF and WAV). Don't know why it had to change for PT 5 and 6.

Since I use my several ProTools setups to do nothing but create audio projects for radio, I could use with an advanced configuration panel that would let me turn off a lot of the features I don't need or use. Does anyone else go crazy clicking to select a chunk of audio only to realize you've clicked it once too often and have to Cancel the Audio File Info window? Such features would be more handy to me if they wouldn't come up when I didn't want 'em.

My utopia would be:

1 version.....................down with LE...........sell full version software with all systems.

Or

Make an upgrade package like the (Digitranslator, DV Pack) to the full version available for the LE users. If it doesn't loose money it makes money digi........pretty simple.

1. Ditch the track limit
2. Let LE use third party hardware
3. Better MIDI functions
4. Better soft synth support.
