group nudge misses one track & xfades disappear

I had two groups in a series of groups set up so that I could nudge 4.1 music/fx + lfe (for 5.1) and 4.0 music/fx sans LFE (for 5.0) in the same session. Intermittently, I discovered that if both groups were toggled on and I had reverted to 5.1 outputs for the tracks (with LFE on its own channel), the LFE sometimes would not nudge with the selected group. I assumed I could leave the 4.1 group (a subset of the 5.1 group) toggled on and selecting the 5.1 would trump it when outputs were set to 5.1, but maybe not...

Also, I've had a couple of instances with multichannel sessions that are about an hour in length where 1 frame xfades would disappear and either leave a hole OR PT would act like it was in shuffle mode and throw the track 1 frame off when I rebooted the session.

This is with 6.4.1 cs6/7 and the dreaded 10.3.5 (I know, not supported, but I had already upgraded....besides, I'm not using FW 800 or using FW for tracks). HD ACCEL 5. 2x2 G5.
