Default Pro Tools 2024.3.1 is out

The bug fixes are lengthy.

Smooth update, nice work.

Ensoniq ASR10 and VFX SD, Yamaha EX7, Protools, Logic, UAD studio ecosystem, old but trusty TDM system, Gibson, Fender, Marshall, Focusrite, SSL, various vintage outboard- Tubes keep me warm in the winter. Yes, I still keep a reel to reel running Ampex 456.

How come it's named 2023.3.1 but released in April? If my perpetual update plan ends on 30th March... seems like a very bittersweet end to my perpetual updates+support first year off. Almost seems deliberate, because Pro Tools went to this system in a March IIRC. I would assume the majority of old school users' perpetual renewals are in March, as that's when Pro Tools 12 came out and this model started. So this is a nice end to the 9 years of paying. Sucks to be me, but also just seems inconsistent in general to name it like that.

It was just bug fixes. Adding the ".1" to a quick turnaround bug-fix release has been standard practice for the last few years, even if it technically gets posted in the following calendar month.

Weezul

This naming convention 2024.3.1 doesn’t matter
Even if they called it 2024.4 , what is the difference??

Once your plan, subscription expires, it expires
You can only download the latest version available, at the date of your subscription’s expiration

My Dude weezul! 34 year user here- My perp license is in September. It's a point .1 meaning cleanup version. I'll take the perp over spending $375-500 every two years for a new version for longer than I can count.

relax and make some great music!

This fixes the io window bug for me. thanks for that.

Couple of things I noticed right away.

Session import data is much slower. After I import the tracks and hit OK, it takes forever to load the tracks in. Even simple tracks with few or no plugins.

Also "commit" is quite slow. Comparing committing the same track in 2023.12.1, it's taking 5-10 times longer .

Ventura 13.6.5
MacBook Pro M1Max 16"
Pro Tools 2024.3.1

Monterey is macOS 12
Ventura is currently 13.6.6

Either way I look at it, I can't decipher it.

We apologize about that Electronic1982. I will make a follow up on this as well.
