Default Audiogridder

Have anyone tried audiogridder with the new PT version?

I had to google to know what this is LOL
Is it basically like the WAVES Soundgrid Server but open source DIY?

I tried it the other day with Sampletank and it didn’t work.

Did get the computers to connect. Didn’t have time to mess around with it.

Also I didn’t realize that you need to have both machines authorized so two licenses needed for any plugin you want on both systems. Two ilok etc.

Wow, that is amazing.
Installed it and it works on Pro Tools and Logic. At least I can see all the stuff. Have to play around with it a bit to see if it is useful.

One thing it doesn't like is WiFi. The second machine running the server needs to be connected via Ethernet.

I had to look it up as well. Cool idea. I think anyone who wants to use Acoustica plugs may get a lucky break doing it with another server.

Curious about the latency.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Unless I'm seriously mistaken, I believe you would want the plugins on only one computer. Messed with it a little, but couldn't connect properly. i need to have more time to check it out. Looks very promising though.

It is amazing. Very similar to using VEP on a server computer, but you actually see the plugin in your DAW as if it were opening locally. It uses no CPU from the DAW side of things. Even VEP consumes a little CPU from PT.

After the initial battle of trying to understand the software, I'm getting to be very happy with it. There are a few glitches, but I believe with time it'll all be ironed out. There are issues with two or three specific plugins, and it doesn't seem as smooth as VEP when it comes to VI's, but it's very very promising indeed. Still messing with it, trying to get a smooth workflow.

OK. I'll try and see. Like I mentioned, there are a few plugins it doesn't work well with.

Works well with most of the Acustica plugins I have but there are a couple that haven't worked for me.
