I'm using many TC masterX plugs that have look-ahead enabled by default so they include a lot of latency by default. I always turn that off to 0 samples, but when I right-click on the plug it still reads Process Delay 146 samples. So what goes on inside the Delay Compensation system in this case? I actually have only 3-4samples of delay on these plugs, but do they get compensated 146 samples?? In Pro Tools I see a similar problem when I put MasterX up but then I go and change my lookahed to 0ms and go and disable delay compensation for a second. After I re-enable it I see a correct amount of delay reported by PT and it's 3 or 4 samples, I don't remember right now. So whats up in Venue in that regard?

Hi Sheldon!
Have your team had a chance to look into this topic? Will MasterX be properly compensated if the look-ahead is changed inside the plugin? As I said before - in Pro Tools you need to disable and re-enable ADC and it will be properly compensated, so what about the Venue? BTW AFAIK MasterX is the fastest brickwall limiter in TDM world (if look-ahead is disabled to 0ms), perfect for the drums! thanks, Kristo |
