Default Building AAXLibrary on Apple Silicon/M1

Hi folks - apologies if this is the wrong place to post this question, but I was unable to find any relevant developer-only forums.

Here at Austrian Audio we have developed a number of useful plugins for our customers, and we target them for all the major plugin standards, including AAX. We've recently begun the effort to bring these plugins to Apple Silicon/M1 - and for that purpose I have recently downloaded the AAX SDK 2.4.0, which - per the documentation - has initial support for Apple Silicon/M1.

However while trying to build the AAXLibrary_libcpp submodule, it appears that things are not quite brought up to date yet - the error received is:

Code:
/Users/aa.jv/Projects/SDKs/aax-sdk-2-4-0/Interfaces/ACF/acfbasetypes.h:309:8: error: 'TARGET_OS_IOS' is not defined, evaluates to 0 [-Werror,-Wundef-prefix=TARGET_OS_]
From this I can surmise that the Schema is detecting that an ARM-emitting compiler is being used, and it therefore assumes the target is IPHONE_OS - however, this is not the case - we are trying to build the library for MacOS/AppleSilicon.

Has anyone else been able to successfully compile the AAXLibrary_libcpp submodule on Apple Silicon/M1, and if so - what changes were made in order to do this? We understand that AAX SDK 2.4.0 is not ready for primetime/public release in terms of usability on Apple Silicon/M1 - but we would sure like to be able to build M1 targetted plugins for our internal testing purposes.

Too soon?

Ah, thanks JFreak - yes I guess its a little too soon for Avid to support the M1, but I had hoped that I would at least be able to work through a build of my own AAX plugins for M1 at least - however, it seems we simply need to wait for Avid to get the platform work done, as demonstrated by this error ..

Thanks for the info.

Not only that, but you also need Apple Silicon native iLok software until you can start working. Sorry for the bad news.

However, I was already hopeful that native support was to be included in 2021.12 but because Monterey 12.0 was such a disaster that never happened. Better luck next year.
