Default How do you make a plug-in inactive?

I can't seem to find any information on how to make a plug-in inactive. The only reference I've found has the Mac keystrokes . Thanks!

Click "bypass" on the plug in.

ctrl+windows left click on the plug-in should disable it. the letters get italicized and grey.you must be on stop mode to do this.

you got it blueroom.

Note: bypass is different than inactive.
- bypass does exactly that. it gives you the sound without that plug-in. it still uses the same amount of CPU juice
- inactive disables it, and takes it out of the CPU loop so you can do other things.
inactive is great for us old computer people because you can do a submix, then make the plugs inactive and continue on, without having to save the settings and go through searching all the saved settings.
- i once watched a pro (because he's done it for a while, and gets paid to do it) use PT Le for mastering. He loaded all the songs in on different stereo tracks, loaded the plugs, made them inactive, and then muted/unmuted tracks to listen to what he wanted, as well as switching the plugs in and out by making them active/inactive. No fiddling with settings, but different settings on each track.
