Re: Dumb. question...bouncing stems/tracks
Maybe I'm missing some vital piece of info here. But if you want to bounce out a single track as a stem, highlight the track name, right click on the track name, and choose bounce. No other tracks will be included.

Re: Dumb. question...bouncing stems/tracks
Sounds good in theory, but maybe I'm an oddity. To me, a single track is not a stem. I call a stem a sub-mix of certain things that go together, such as a drum stem, which is all the drum tracks mixed. Or a BGV stem which is a mix is all BGV tracks. For a single track, just commit it instead of bouncing. Its essentially the same result(in theory) but its a command that does what you want to achieve

Ah! Thanks, Dave. I had the wrong term for this in my head. Wouldn't be the first time!

Re: Dumb. question...bouncing stems/tracks
Bounce always ignores track solo(s). I find it a bit irritating to be honest ("just print what I'm listening to dammit!") but I guess there must be some logical reason for it.

Re: Dumb. question...bouncing stems/tracks
Two things:
To solo an aux, use AFL/PFL mode, to solo a track and hear it through the mix chain use SIP mode. Having a macro to change solo modes makes this very fast and easy. Re: bounce ignoring solos (SIP mode): When using the "Bounce to Disk" workflow from the File menu (opt-ctl-b), solos will NOT be ignored. When using the <right-click an aux to "bounce..."> workflow, solos WILL be ignored. I don't understand the logic behind this, and I wish solos were never ignored, but that's how it works. best, rich
