Is there a MAC for under $1500 that works w/ PTLE?

You can get a completely tricked out iMac for $1799. That's a 20 inch, 2 gig G5, 512 mb ram, 250g HardDrive. Also, you can pick up a Refurb G5 from apple.com for $1199. It's got warranty and everything, but then you need a monitor.

I bought an Imac G5 to use with Pro Tools and DP and tried to send it back because the thing sounded like a hotel lobby room at 2:30 AM (IE vacuum cleaners in every corridor)

APPLE support was pathetic. I wanted to trade up for a Dual Desktop model but they wouldn't entertain the idea.

Not happy was I. Finally took the advice of one of the tech support people and sold the 6 week old machine (that I paid $1,650 for) on Ebay for $1,000.
