Hi there, I can't seem to find anything about this in the release notes, but it seems that the REWIRE plugin 'Sibelius' is no longer functioning in ProTools Ultimate 2023.3
Is this intentional (is it being phased out?) or is it something that's still on the list to fix? If it has been discontinued intentionally, is there another way to host the audio from Sibelius in ProTools and synchronize the transport like the REWIRE plug does? Thanks! |

Rewire has been ended by Propellerhead (developer of the protocol.) It is being terminated in use by everyone. Reason (Propellerhead) made this announcement a few years back:

And I saw this (screenshot).
Maybe it will work for now under Rosetta with your existing install? I do not use Rewire or Silicon iMac so cannot test. I noticed this glancing earlier, and reminded myself reading this post. Forward though, the above stands. It is no longer actively supported

As BScout mentioned, ReWire has been deprecated for several years now.
Also, it is in the release notes. https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...-Release-Notes EDIT: Beaten by a couple of mins. =P Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Oops! Missed that in the notes. I thought I had looked!
Anyone have any hot tips on another way to sync Sibelius (and other music applications) with ProTools? I don't care as much about the audio routing, but transport sync would be so useful! |

Aren't your apps showing up in the Insert -> Instrument menu?

Those apps in the instrument menu are REWIRE plugins. They are no longer present in the Apple Silicon Native version of ProTools.
Turns out that, for the moment, running PT using Rosetta allows me to use Rewire again (excellent suggestion above, by the way!) but I’m concerned that AVID removed useful functionality without providing an alternative. Really any way to sync MTC between apps would be fine, which PT does but sadly Sibelius can’t do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Good thought! Running PT in Rosetta solved this. For the moment, and for my purposes, I can keep switching Rosetta on and off when I need this functionality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
