Yes. Sometimes people are lazy and refer to Control24 as C24, so I made a point about Avid C|24 being supported whereas DigiDesign Command24 is not.

Oh yes - this is frustrating when doing research. You read comments by people and you can't work out which product they're referring to.

Yes. And frankly, strictly my opinion, in current times DigiDesign Control24 is close to useless even though you could get it working with 3rd party drivers.
1) the old focusrite preamps are tired already. you can get much better for fraction of the price. 2) the monitor section is outdated and the knob has only one sweet spot, you need to heat glue it to proper position 3) the PSU has guarantee to work until you switch it off, but once you turn it on it may be dead already Only good thing it has are the faders. Avid C|24 however is another story. It has good 5.1 monitoring section, albeit it requires DB25 cabling but once it is done it is solid. And because of the shape, it is waaaaaayyyyy easier to fit in a flight case, which in my case is worth its weight in gold. I take that thing on live gigs every now and then and it is just as solid as any analog console someone might compare it to. With a difference of being able to easily create 5.1 mix in front of live audience. With that said I did not like Avid's decision to stop supporting Command24 and Pro Control, the latter being excellent controller. But that is the way things move forward. I think they will not extend support for any legacy controllers after their promised support dates are over, after that it will be EUCON only.

You never know... when was the Command|8 discontinued? Pro Tools still supports that natively.

Sure - at the end of the day it's all a crap shoot really. I guess C|24 will work 'properly' with Pro Tools until the end of this year at least. When it stops. I'll either have to freeze my version or look to third party software. It was obviously a much more serious decision buying a C|24 at GBP 1800 than when I bought the Command|8 for around GBP 150, and of course the integration (and furniture) aspects are a major cost too. Meanwhile, I am really enjoying this big gleaming thing in the corner of my studio, waiting to be wired in...

Avid C|24 end of support is 31-DEC-2022, so there is a great chance of getting Apple Silicon drivers during the year. Sit tight, I am 100% just as interested about it as you are.

Looks like there is no support for C|24 with the new ProTools 2022.12 in Mac OS Ventura ...
