Default Rumors of new control surface?

I'm about to purchase a command 8 and was wondering if I should hold off for a bit. Has anyone heard any rumors about Digi releasing a new and improved control surface in the same budget range? And/Or one that has fader pack extensions?

Blow off the Command8 and get a Yamaha 01V96. It's got 16 faders, can be used as an audio I/O via ADAT, and the "Omni-Outs" into your 002R, with the onboard EQs, compression, etc...

I doubt they are going to be releasing any new control surface since the C8 is only, like a year and a half old.

The Yamaha looks great, but the faders aren't touch-sensitive, so if that's important to you, the Digi unit is a better bet. If you could use the mic pres and IO, the Yamaha seems cool.

What do you mean they aren't touch sensitive? They seem pretty touch sensitive to me. They are motorized, and will change when you touch them during a pass.

They are movement sensitive, not "touch" sensitive. There is a major difference, if you are used to "touch"
faders.
