could not create new file...assertion...error code 1346

Was on a rush, and launched PT9 before launching my audio interface...

Went to Audio Midi setup in Mac OSX, re-selected the interface, shut down, restarted Mac, (a few times ago, did the same thing and it solved issue). This time, nothing will do.

Followed a suggestion in a thread here : deleted databases folders (Mac HD/Libraries/applications support/Digidesign/databases/unicode), emptied trash, restarted Mac, and still same message.

I'm stucked (what's new!) with useless Pro Tools - cannot create a new file, because of assertion.... blah blah blah) Error 1346 message over and over again.

I see threads where people have reinstalled PT and many other steps to no avail.

For those who were able to solve this, anything else I can try ?

Which interface ? Isn't that cannot create new file error generated by the permissions problems ???

It seems like I had those issues when I had some permission problems with Lion (recent Mac convert) - I had to reinstall Lion and wiped my hard drive (and promised myself that I would not jack with the permissions)

No nothing to do (in this case...) with permissions.

Had to make the change of audio engine withing PT, not (only) within Mac applications (audio-midi setup).

In my case, not only have I promised myself to think twice before launching PT (and ensure to *first* have fired-up the interfaces, but I printed a big page in front of my setup to remind me!!
