Default 2 888/24

We added a secaond 888 to our mix plus 24 system for 16 i/o. however we still have just the 8 channels playback. Do we need a second mix card?

is the second 888 hooked up to a card? or, to what?

if i remember right, you could either get an optional 16 channel peripherla cable from a DIGI dealer or EBAY. or you hook the 2nd up to the farm card.

did you set it up in the hardware setup dialogue box. you need to tell PT you have two interfaces now.

Or you could get one from me for $50 (U.S. dollar) plus shipping.

Make sure you have the second box synced to the first (through the BNC cable, about $5.00 almost anywhere).

THE BNC IS GOOD TO GO AND I CONNECTED THE 2ND 888/24 TO THE SECOND CARD (R TO L)IN THE EXPANSION CHASSIS. WE HAVE A MIX AND A FARM. ALSO THE ANALOG LIGHT AT THE BOTTOM OF CHANNELS 1-2 ON THE SECOND 888 IS BLINKING ANY IDEAS. I LOOKED AT THE PERIFERALS AND COULDN'T FIND A SELECTOR FOR TWO 888 ???. THEW SYSTEM IS WORKING FINE WITH THE SECOND I/O IN SERIES. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP.

YOU NEED TO TRASH YOUR DAE PREFS AND DIGI INIT AND RESTART. WHEN YOU LAUNCH PT YOU WILL GET TO THE DIALOGUE BOX THAT TELLS PT THAT YOU HAVE 2 INTERFACES NOW. AN "A" AND A "B".

hope that helps.

Go to the 'Setup' menu and select 'Hardware Setup' -- not sure if this is still a problem but when you select your interfaces you have to leave a space (slot) between the 1st and 2nd interfaces.

(1st interface) - 1st 888
(2nd interface) - leave space
(3rd interface) - 2nd 888

1st check the playback engine settings and define the interfaces in there.

also, go into i/o setup and click on default.

You don't have to do all that -- simply start up Pro Tools while holding down the N key.
