Yo
There have been a few discussions on the PT main board about 'Perpetual' vs. 'Subscription' vs. 'With Active Support Plan' licenses for components that are installed when you install a new update of PT. Having just installed PT 25.6.0, I noticed a few more of these co-installs that were added. So my question for the T&T board is - What products (exactly) do I need to uninstall following a PT update to ENSURE that all projects will load and playback as intended even if my perpetual license expires. We need an explicit procedure on Win and Mac for de-installing all of time limited (by the perpetual license) co-products, demos and hostageware. Ideally, we need separate installers. BUT, failing that we need a specific procedure or de-installer to make systems perpetual license lock down ready. Currently, the process is set up to bite you hard if you let your perpetual support plan laps - it got me once with Melodyne, and I swore by Grabthar's Hammer that would never happen again ![]() Anyone on the board want to take a crack at this ? IMHO, YMMV, eieio ejinbc |

I think you may have misunderstood my question / request. I am referring specifically to the plugins and add-ons that are included in the Perpetual product install but NOT included in the actual perpetual license (e.g. plugins that only function while you have an "active" support plan for your perpetual license). You may want to delete your response. Another way to look at the challenge - If your project contains any plugins that only function with an Active Support Plan, then old projects will not play back UNLESS you have a current paid Active Support Plan for your "perpetual" license. At the very least we need clear and explicit knowledge of all such expiring product add-ons so that tracks can be committed for archiving. I am not against free tools and time limited demos, but tracks that contain these need to be frozen. Perhaps. ejinbc |

Apologies on this! Thanks for the clarification!
If that's the case, upon launching, licenses will be asked for plugins that doesn't have any, just need to move them to the "unused folder" and you should be good to go :)

Yo
Thankyou for your suggestions. Point is, I want to remove "With Active Support Plan" only licensed plugins BEFORE they expire. Don't get me wrong I love free stuff and time-limited demos, but I want my projects to function as they were created even if for some terrible* reason I can't renew my Support Plan. I have perpetual plugins from Waves, NI and a few others that will work forever as long as I lock down my system. Because I run Win 11, I have not had to update my Waves or other plugins for some time. They just work. To assist anyone that is interested (last check 800 thread views), I did a fresh Win11 and PT 2025.6 Studio Perpetual Installer installation - I only ran the main installer package, no other plugins were added. Here is a list of installed plugins with the base package: AutoPan, BF-76, ChannelStrip, ClickII, Dither, DownMixer, DVerb, DynamicsIII, Eleven Lite, EQIII, Intune, Invert-Duplicate, IZRX11SpectralEditorAAXHook, LoFi, MasterMeter, Maxim, Melodyne, ModDelay_III, Normalize-Gain, NoteStack, Pitch Shift Legacy, PitchControl, PitchII, RectiFi, Reverse-DC Removal, SansAmp PSA-1, SciFi, SignalGenerator, Splice, Time Shift, TimeAdjuster, Trim, VariFi, VelocityControl Comparing the list above with the current published list of Perpetual plugins shown below there are a few differences ![]() I understand Avid is working on a license-type clarification document. I will wait for the detailed updated list of perpetual plugins before I start removing (potentially) expiring plugins. All Good. Channelstrip is definitely perpetual. Not sure why it's not on the list.
