Sketch for Desktop - Can't Use Mono Audio Inputs?

I have stereo and mono inputs set up in 'I/O Setup', yet I can ONLY select stereo inputs for audio tracks in sketch. Is this a bug or am I just dense? :)

It's working as poorly as intended.

This has been discussed on multiple other threads on DUC. You can find those past threads with a little google foo. e.g.

If you're using Sketch for Desktop (assuming this is a DAW or audio recorder), it might have a different workflow for mono inputs. Some software hides mono inputs unless a mono track is created first.
