Hi again Marianna - or any other moderator,
I wonder if there are any news regarding this issue (PT Intro not launching). By the way i keep having an Avid Link pop up icon: "Plug-in update notification - There is 1 plug-in update available". However when i click on it nothing happens. Also nothing seems to be missing from the Avid Link apps list when i open it. I mention this because it is when "Loading plugins" that the program collapses and the screen disappears, so maybe there is something about plugins that causes this? Many thanks. |

i might delete all Pro tools that you have downloaded and start a fresh install

Well, i have done that several times already but the problem still persists. The program just collapses when 'loading plugins...'. Thanks though, all the best.

One of the first things Pro Tools does when launching is to look at what plug-ins are installed, if they’re authorized, and whether or not they are compatible. If Pro Tools stops launching while scanning the plug-ins, there is probably a plug-in that is causing the failure. To verify this, go to the Pro Tools plug-ins folder, move all of the plug-ins to a temporary folder, and then relaunch Pro Tools. If Pro Tools launches when the plug-ins have been removed, then you have verified that the issue is caused by a plug-in(s). Updating your plug-ins and/or removing plug-ins that are incompatible usually resolves this issue. Windows C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins Normally I make a copy of the folder and then move everything from the folder to the temp folder and then place it up a few levels. if this doesn't work then.......... Can you please email me and include: Window 11 version ( Avid only supports Windows 11 (23H2)) Pro Tools Intro version Avid Link version Computer specs Can you screenshot the error you get when the application is launching? If not, what does it say exactly? Marianna

It sounds like Pro Tools Intro is installed properly, but something’s blocking it from launching. Try checking if it appears in the Task Manager when you attempt to open it—sometimes it runs in the background but fails to display. Make sure your graphics and audio drivers are up to date, especially since you're using a Presonus interface. Also, double-check that iLok License Manager and PACE services are running properly. As a test, try switching your system audio to the default built-in device and launching again. If none of that helps, try running Pro Tools in compatibility mode (right-click > Properties > Compatibility) for an older version of Windows. Event Viewer might also offer clues if an error is occurring silently.

Hi Marianna,
Thanks for the instructions. So i 'cut' the 'Plug-Ins' folder from the 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins' path as you suggested and moved it elsewhere - this is what you meant, correct? But the problem persists when i try to open PT, still the screen collapses when loading plug-ins. Now about the pc's specs: It's a Dell Latitude 5410, 'DESKTOP JRRG3IH'. Storage: 477GB (206GB used), Graphics card: 128MB 'Intel (R) UHD Graphics'. Device specifications: Device name DESKTOP-JRRG3IH Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10610U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.30 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.6 GB usable) Device ID 2727C887-DB79-4219-B6E6-5C17CB14D5D4 Product ID 00325-82044-74760-AAOEM System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch Touch support with 10 touch points Windows specifications: Edition Windows 11 Home Version 24H2 Installed on 17/01/2025 OS build 26100.3775 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.66.0 The Pro Tools version appears to be 2025.6 I also installed PT First (again) and its version is 2021.7 Avid Link version 25.5 (full version codes as in program files: 2026.6.0.282 2021.7.0.127 and 25.5.1.4653 respectively) Finally there is no particular error message or prompt, the screen just collapses when 'Loading System Plugins Elastic Audio (7 of 11)' when launching Pro Tools, or 'Loading Plug-Ins' when launching Pro Tools First. Please keep me informed! Many thanks once again and best regards, Nick |

Hi again Marianna,
I posted a quite lengthy reply describing again the problem and including system specifications etc. a few days ago but does not appear in the thread yet - perhaps some moderator is still checking it? (hopefully it did not get lost!...). Anyway, the main thing was that i did move all plug-ins as you suggested to see if PT then launches, but still doesn't. I should perhaps also mention that i have now also re-installed PT First again, in case that plug-ins etc. complement each other with PT Intro - might that be a problem? other ideas perhaps? By the way, how do i "update plug-ins and/or remove plug-ins that are incompatible" as you also suggest? Many thanks! |
