Just bounce to a different drive. Then, Drag&Drop if you need it on the E: drive

Have you checked to see if that volume has the correct permission?

Go to Window>New Workspace>Default

You should see a list of volumes. Make sure the "E:" drive is set to "R"

I am having this same problem.

I've set permissions for my disks to Playback in the Workspace, but I'm still getting the error.

Pro Tools 2023.6.0
Macbook Pro running OS 14.4.1

I just transferred to this new mac from my old one, and got the error the first time on the new machine, so I'm sure that's related.

And that is behaving exactly as expected. You need to set permissions of the drive you are trying to bounce to to Record not Playback.

The error message Pro Tools gives about not being a Playback volume is stupidly incorrect. If you enjoy beating your head against the wall you can open a case with with Avid support and report that problem.
