Default Pro Tools 5.3.1r2 Update for Pro Tools|HD Mac

Pro Tools 5.3.1r2 Update
for Pro Tools|HD for Macintosh Systems

Is now available from the Support/Downloads section in the following location:

http://www.digidesign.com/download/cs/531r2/

In order to use Pro Tools 5.3.1r2, you must first run the Pro Tools 5.3.1 installer, either from the Pro Tools 5.3.1 CD or the Pro Tools 5.3.1 download.

What's Fixed in Pro Tools 5.3.1r2?
This version contains fixes for the following problems found in Pro Tools TDM 5.3.1 for Macintosh:
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Assorted issues when using PRE in conjunction with ProControl & Control|24
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">The Feet.Frames ruler was incorrectly calculated when session frame rate was set to 29.97
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Inserting silence into a MIDI track did not always displace automation data accordingly
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">DirectConnect plug-ins or applications like Soft SampleCell and Native Instruments did not work with the 192 Digital I/O
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Who Should Use Pro Tools TDM 5.3.1r2?
This release has been fully qualified by Digidesign, and should be used by all Pro Tools|HD users on Macintosh-based systems, though if you do not use PRE, MIDI tracks, 192 Digital I/O or the Feet.Frames ruler, you will gain no advantage by updating from version 5.3.1.

Regards,
Digi Pro Tools Team

Having the same problem as Craig.

I'm unable to download.

I enter a valid authorization code and get this message:

Pro Tools 5.3 Serial Number Error.
I'm sorry, but you need to enter a valid serial number to download. Please click back and fill in all required fields marked *

I had no problem. Make sure you add the 'spaces' on your DIGI serial #.

First, make sure that you have cookies enabled in your browser preferences. (which you mentioned you have already done)
This and some other troubleshooting tips can be found in the Support/Downloads/ Help page:
http://www.digidesign.com/download/help.html
Instructions on cookies are here:
http://www.digidesign.com/download/help.html#30

Also, you may be looking at a cached page with broken links. The pages have been updated a number of times.
Try going to your browser preferences and deleting your cache or Temporary Internet Files.
If that doesn't work, then you can try going directly to this link:

http://www.digidesign.com/download/cs/531r2/

rather than through the Support/Downloads section and the regular website frameset.

Once you are on that page, hit Refresh or Reload in your browser while you hold down the shift key.
That will force your browser to display the current page instead of a cached copy.

Make sure that you enter the serial number this way:
The first 4 characters are letters, all caps:
DIGI

after that, all "0" characters are zeros, not letters, and all letters are case sensitive.

The spaces in your code are ignored on the download form, so you can put them in or not, doesn't matter.

If none of these suggestions help, send details: name, address, and email address along with your serial number to the web admins at [email protected] and we'll help sort it out. You should be using the authorization code on the inside front cover of your Getting Started With HD guide, but if there is a misprint or other error we can check it against the database.

I've tried all of the above suggestions.

No go.

I'm still unable to download.

I've emailed web admins.

Thanks, I think I found the problem.
We have updated the database to include the authorization codes for more recent HD purchasers. Should work now.
