quirk in 8.1.1 with volume automation editing
Hi,
I'm using PT8.1.1 on a mac HD 2 system. I upgraded today from 8.0.x to 8.11.. I edit dialog and alway need to raise or lower the volume automation line in short regions. in the older versions (all the way back to 6) if there was no automation points across a region and the volume line was slanted across it.. I could double click the region and then when I would raise or lower the volume line it would level out flat across the region. I've been trying for an hour or so to find a setting that I can click to get back to that behavior but now in 8.1.1 I double click that region and it only goes up or down at the same relative angle it starts with. I must have the old behavior back Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: quirk in 8.1.1 with volume automation editing
Seanob99,
I can confirm that this is the behavior in Pro Tools 8.1 cs2: http://media.shinywhitebox.com/dave-...omation-change This is what I would think the expected behavior should be in this scenario. I would actually think it was buggy if what you explained happened.

Re: quirk in 8.1.1 with volume automation editing
Yes thats exactly what happens in 8.1.1. just at in the video. I've been working with it the other way where the line would level out flat for the last 4 years. Its what I know and prefer but there seems to be no setting or pref that I can change to make it the way I want.
I can't be the only person that noticed this. Thanks for the reply |

In 10+ years I've never seen automation 'level out flat' as you describe.

When I get to my 8.0.x system later today I'll capture video of it.

Re: quirk in 8.1.1 with volume automation editing
Now that I see your examples in the video, I can see where that could be very, very helpful. I could see where an option for either behavior would be nice. But for me, I would rather it be how it currently is.

Re: quirk in 8.1.1 with volume automation editing
Finally good to go here. I double click the region and hit 'command /' and I'm done.
I programmed that into one of the keys on the Logitech G13 that I couldn't live without. |
