Default Beat Clock to MPC via MTP AV?

I'm trying to sync an MPC to PT via a MTP AV using beat clock. The MPC is definitely recieving midi and I have beat clock enabled to the mtp av. Is it something in clockworks that I have to do?
Thanks for the help.

I also would like to know that with midi clock sync. Wanna sync a XP80 sequencer. Seems old version 4.3 is not capable, but will version 5.1.1 allow me that? thanks to all

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">-Did you install FreeMidi after OMS?
-Is FreeMidi running in "OMS Compatibility" mode?
-Is your MTP AV recognized as such in OMS? (the MTP AV device icon should be purple with the MOTU unicorn behind/above it)

In the MIDI>MIDI Beat Clock window of Pro Tools, I would suggest enabling the MPC item and not the MTP AV.

In the MIDI section of the Transport window, make sure that the Conductor button is highlighted.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">-Starting with PT 5.0, you may now transmit MIDI Beat Clock to any device listed in your OMS Setup file.

thanks Brent! I have versions 4.3, 4.3.1 and now 5.1 and 5.1.1. Basically, SPP/midi beat clock will be already going out of a midi cable to a device like XP80, MC50 via MTP Av, right?

Still stuck. Midi beat clock only shows mtpav, clockworks and iac bus. OMS setup has been done. MTPAV shows it's recieving something when protools is playing (BEAT CLOCK?) and MPC is recieving midi because it plays the click.
Thanks for the help.

Hi There
Make sure in OMS you have a Device
that is the MPC. Open that device in OMS
and enable send and recieve MIDI Beat clock.
Save. In Pro Tools, enable MIDI Beat Clock
under the MIDI menu. Also enable the MTPAV.
Your device does not show under the MIDI Beat clock devices because the interface once enabled
outputs MIDI Beat clock on all MIDI ports.
Ok, software is now set (remember to set the tempo in Pro Tools to the tempo that you want the track to be since Beat clock transmits Tempo).
On the MPC choose MIDI input and set it for M Clock with SPP. Go into song mode, hit play in Pro Tools and you should be rolling. Also remeber
that "Clock works" is only used with Free MIDI
and Digital Performer and should not be used with OMS.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">-MIDI Beat Clock is not enabled by default. MBC will only be transmitted from Pro Tools if it is enabled in the MIDI>MIDI Beat Clock Window.
