Default How to use mod wheel in Play

I'm using Play AAX for some eastwest plugins. I'd like to attach my mod wheel on my m audio keystation to control expression. Can someone help me do this?

You'd have to find some way to map what the mod wheel sends to CC11. Unfortunately there's no way to MIDI learn a control for that as there's no slider/knob for expression in Play. Play used to use (may still do) CC11 as a volume control. When I use Play libraries I map the volume slider for each part to what my keyboard controller sends from the attached volume pedal which is cc7.

Do you really need expression (CC11) or volume (CC7)? They're two different animals.

Keep in mind that I only use older EW libraries like Symphonic Orchestra, Ra and Stormdrum and don't know what changes may have been made to the engine with regards to newer libraries.

I'm trying to work on getting more realistic sounding orchestration. crescendos and decrescendos etc.

You may want to ask about this over on the EW forums. But like I said there's no programmable controller on the Play engine that will do CC11 (expression) even though the engine & libraries can respond to CC11.
