Default Does The Firewire Cable Cause Differences In Quality?

This probably has already been discussed, but does the firewire cable cause a perceivable difference in quality besides working and not working? I know this a huge debate for many other types of cables including 1/4" cables, XLR cables, IEC cables, and others, some people believing some cables having an effect, other people saying there is none. If anyone here knows of any differences for firewire cables, what cables can you recommend? Thanks!

The main difference in Firewire cables is the quality of the builds.
There's no real difference in performance between cheap firewire cables and expensive firewire cables, but better quality builds will be less prone to failures and will most likely have better longevity.
The firewire cables included with the 003 are bottom of the barrel in terms of quality builds.
That said, I used mine for years with my 002/003, and never had a problem.

no, there is no audible difference, just working or not working. It transports digital stream, that´s all. Audio cables in the analog domain do influence sound.

I like the FW cables protected by the silver, wire-mesh braid. How the wire itself is connected to the plugs has to be somewhat important, so a brand name probably has higher quality standards.
