Default locating and editing question

When i am drawing automation I see a thin red line that moves along with my mouse at the top of the screen to help locate.

Is there a way to get that cross hair to go all the way through to the bottom of the screen (showing up on top or behind the wave forms) so that it is easier to make minute edits to the waveform?

Unfortunately not. But, you can zoom in/out both vertically and horizontally, and also increase the waveform height. Check out the PT Shortcuts pdf guide in the docs folder, page 18.

What I've been doing is highlighting the file and the lane underneath it but if I had the cursor going all the way through it would save some time.
