Default Strange Sound Issues

Hello, I have recently benn having some strange issues with Pro Tools LE 10. It seems the audio I record just randomly stops playing. It begins with the audio stopping and a high pitch noise playing. I press stop & the high pitch noise is still being transmited through the level meter on the mono track. I press play again and the track display no signal and no audio is transmitted. If i restart the project everything is fine. The odd thing about this is that the stereo instrumental i am recording over will still play. Any suggestions?

Hi Jay

I would look at the actual drive, you need to look at the speed and size and prefferably the model aswell. The recording drive has to be atleast 7200rpm aswell as should the system drive, not be WD Caviar Green = Toxic for PT and whatever else you can find.

Also, do you have the latest drivers for Mbox 3 and what is your buffer size and do you use delay comp etc
The latest Mbox drivers are important download here : http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...nload/en375651
Also, have you trashes preferences and all that explained here http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=300050

Best Regards
Chris

I trashed the preferences & the problem still seems to persist.
Here is an updated information

Macintosh HD 3.06 Ghz Intel Core i3
OSX Version 10.6.8
Mbox Mini v3 1.1.3 Firmware 0.07.0
Pro Tools 10 10.3.5
4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM
Flex Drive Pro FW800 1 TB
I have trashed preferences, reinstalled Pro Tools, deleted databases.

As I playback recorded vocals sometimes the audio stops and a signal is just played over a track. Even when the session isn't being played. If i replay the session, none of the audio files will play, no signal is sent through the individual tracks either, except the stereo instrument track seems to be unaffected by this glitch and will continue to play. The only thing that seems to resolve this issue is taking all recorded tracks making them inactive & then active. This resolves the issue for a brief amount of time.
