Default PT12.5 & Vocalign Project

Has anybody using PT 12 had any issues using Vocalign Project? I bought this plugin that was highly recommended about 2 1/2 months ago, and it has yet to work correctly for me. It aligns a few things while missing other changes that need to be made. It particularly misses the end of phrases that need to be lined up. In their tutorial video, which I was meticulous in following step by step, it aligned some phrases that were much farther off than mine. Sent an inquiry to Synchro Arts but I have yet to receive a response. I'm using it on a Windows 10 64 bit computer.

It's not a PT issue, but Vocalign issue. I have found out that if you do shorter phrases at a time, it yields to better results. Long passes are always hit and miss here

Thanks Janne. I wasn't sure if this was strictly a Vocalign problem or if it was the combination of Vocalign & PT 12.5. My Sweetwater rep who uses Vocalign (and has never had this problem using it in Pro Tools) told me about keeping phrase size down, so I've been aware of that, but it hasn't helped. I will continue to try to pursue this with Synchro Arts, but in the mean time if you or anyone else on this forum has any ideas, please feel free to share them with me. Thanks

Are you using the latest version from a week or so ago?

I was not aware there was a recent update to Vocalign Project. Nothing I read on their website indicated such. I'll check into it. Thanks.

For vocalign to work best, the timing needs to be in the ball park. Also, make sure the clips you are affecting are the same length. That solves alot of issues as well for me.

I had the same issues using the vocalign demo when considering buying it. Some phrases were near-as-damnit anyway and it was making a pigs ear about 1 time in 5. I was working on some BVs, making sure all audio clips were the same length. I then started doing shorter phrases, and then isolating the phrases it couldn't seem to get. Even then, sometimes I just got the same result. It's a good tool but not consistent for me. Back to edits/elastic audio :)

Wow I can't believe they still sell this piece of sh*t! Has the quality got any better? The stretching used to sound dreadful. I stopped using it at around 2006 when Melodyne first came out and blew everyone away....

Vocalign is much faster if you have lots to align. That's why. And if you slice your stuff to shorter clips it isn't that bad. Every now and then you need to re-render, but still much faster than doing it in Melodyne. At the end of the process you just consolidate and scrap the million small unnecessary clips.

Melodyne Studo 4 Kix Serious A and we work super fast if compared to Melodyne 3 and Editor 2. Vocalign see no use anymore unfortunatley even though it was expensive
