Default midiman midisport 2x2 and mbox, problem solved

I ran cakewalk sonar with the midiman midisport 2x2 with no problems.

I just got an mbox for my PC and now the power lights on the 2x2 won't even go on, much less be recognized by protools le 6.4.

What could the problem be?
I got the current drivers for the 2x2.
It is not the usb port because the mbox works fine when I plug it in the the port previously used by the 2x2.

I know people have gotten protools and the 2x2 to work with each other.

Can someone please help?
I love my midi gear, oh, I need it so.

Thanks.

Does the 2x2 work (light up) when it is plugged in without the Mbox being plugged in?

No it does not.

It is completely dark.

Thanks for replying, it sounds like you have experienced this. I am all ears.

You know what, when I used Sonar, sometimes the midiman would not show up periodically, it could be the darn cable.

Checking now.

Thanks for replying Bazzle.

Just replaced usb cable, the 2x2 is still dark (no lights on).

Could the 2x2 just be dead and need to be replaced?
Like I said, sometimes when I started Sonar, the 2x2 wouldn't power up but would power up later.

What do you think?

It should light up when it is plugged in if the drivers are installed. Are you sure you don't have it disabled?Check the Device Manager to see if it is working correctly.

It says "unknown usb device" and says to reinstall the drivers (which i did earlier). It also says its working (which is obviously is not).

I unplugged the 2x2 from my studio pc and brought it to my office pc and plugged it in.

the computer said "new usb device found" but the lights on the 2x2 don't go on.

I think it's f'ed.

I sent an email to m-audio tech. support and will call them tomarrow (or try to).

So close yet so far.

Thanks for all your help Bazzle, it is greatly appreciated.
Have a good night.

Crossed Over.
