Machine control weirdnes with 6.9.3

We recently upgraded 2 of our HD systems to 6.9.3 (OS 10.4.2). We did the Sync I/O firmware ubdate as well. Since the update, our Machine control has be become almost unusable when controlling our 'Accom Abekas 6000 video servers. The servers are running in BVW75 emulation (standard Beta). And our Protools Mahine ID we use is DVW500 (since this allows us 4 channels of track arming). This all worked fine in our previous versions of PT's. Now, with PT's as the transport master, the server will play through the cursor point and PT's won't play back for as long as 15 seconds. Then when you hit the spacebar to stop playback the server just gets stuck playing back. You have to quit PT's and re-launch to get back to normal control (which doesn't last long). The same symptoms occur on 2 systems. I've trashed prefs etc.
