Default Used Eleven Rack question
If I buy a used one can I just download the software to control it for protools freely ?

I'm on a monthly subscription of protools 12.5

You would need to purchase the Expansion Pack, its not free.

Right which SHOULD be reflected in the sellers price. Have warned a few others to check which firmware and negotiate the price based on that.

Just stick with buying recent Firmware 2.x models. It's just likely not worth the hassle of dealing with an expansion pack upgrade. Also there may still some old Rev E units kicking around (last digit of the serial number on the back panel). You don't want those because of possible clock problems.

I've been thinking of getting a second 11R. So what are the top tips for buying a used one if you own PT already?

- Don't buy a Rev. E
- Do buy v 2.0
- Do get one with Expansion Pack

Any other tips? Price that is fair?

My other tip is people who save original boxes and paperwork more likely take care of their gear.
