Neverending problems PT10.3.7 installation on Mountain Lion
Hi,
I'm facing big issues since I want to install PT10.3.7 on my new iMac. Here is the story. I used Migration Assistant to transfert data from an iMac Snow Leopard where PT10.0.0 were installed to a brand new iMac Mountain Lion. I uninstalled PT10.0.0 to install v10.3.7. Installed drivers for my Digi003 rack and iLok licence manager. Updated all my plugins. First problem I had was some Avid Virtual instruments were missing. So I installed Avid Virtual Instruments. Then Hybrid 1.6 asked for authorization (common issue) so I deleted all Hybrid files to install v1.5.2 then update it to v1.5.3 that is fully compatible with PT10.3.7. but installation was not possible because "hybrid was already installed" (?????) PT clean uninstallation > installation Second problem was Avid CoreAudio was not auto-launching when it supposed to (when playing VLC for example). Tried to solve it... in vain. PT clean uninstallation > installation I had a third problem when I wanted to launch PT. I got this: "Impossible to create a document because of Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/ws.ProTools_10.3.7/AlturaPorts/DFW/MacBuild/../Views/UMenu.MacOS.mm", line 1351." PT clean uninstallation > installation Another problem during PT installation. AudioMIDI crashed twice. PT clean uninstallation > installation (with Midi IO drivers previously installed) Now I opened a session and realized there is another I/O issue. My 003 is detected but I no longer have all the analog inputs/outputs. I try to get my computer ready for three days now, hoping to get answers and help on forums. I'm tired and I don't know how to fix that. Actually, I would like to start again from migration (I mean use Migration Assistant again) but I think it'd cause more issues since the new iMac has already data??? I'm stuck, I cannot work, I don't know what to do…. I NEED HELP! Thanks a lot! |

A) please stop cross-posting
B) I think your OS is damaged, try downloading and running the combo updater for the version of 10.8 you have

Thanks Craig, and sorry for the double post.
Do I have to remove/delete something before? |

running the Combo, no
just run it and it should patch any broken parts of the OS

PT 10 works great under OS X Mountain Lion. It's best to install it fully and from scratch. The same is recommended for your plugins. Much as Migration Assistant will try to transfer apps and assets, many apps and plugins are tied to your machine ID, which will have changed, so best case they will be deauthorised. Spare yourself the headaches and do a clean install. Regarding the problem at hand, run Disk Utility and repair permissions. Updates sometimes mess up OS X itself. |

Re: Neverending problems PT10.3.7 installation on Mountain Lion
Thanks. Yes I've had to reauthorize some of my plugins. So if combo updater doesn't solve anything, I'd have to format the HD then reinstall Mountain Lion and everything?

Re: Neverending problems PT10.3.7 installation on Mountain Lion
Ok. I clean uninstalled PT. Once permissions repaired, I installed combo updater. Then I installed iLok licence manager, 002_003 drivers, and Pro Tools. Again, CoreMIDI crashed during the installation. PT was successfully installed tho.
Here is the crash report if it can help (for download): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...20CoreMIDI.rtf Clean install in progress... Last edited by indrama; 10-23-2013 at 08:04 AM. |

Re: Neverending problems PT10.3.7 installation on Mountain Lion
Ok, clean install is done. I installed iLok licence manager, 002_003 drivers, PT 10.3.7 then Avid Virtual Instruments and Hybrid v1.5.2 then updated it to v1.5.3.
Everything is ok but Hybrid has no library/presets. I searched the Hybrid folder but it is not there. Where can I find it? |

Re: Neverending problems PT10.3.7 installation on Mountain Lion
Also, I have Music Production Toolkit II and I noticed that some plugins were not in the plugin lists in PT such as Soundreplacer, Joe Meek EQ/comp, Essential Tune, Purple Audio MC77, Fairchild 660, Melodyne Essential, Bombfactory (except BF76) and I have the free version of Eleven only. Do I have to download MP Toolkit II?
