Mbox 3 not getting power on new Macbook Pro

When I plug my Mbox 3 into my brand spanking new Macbook Pro quad core with Lion, the blue LED power light flashes and it is not recognised by the Mac. This is not related to Pro Tools as this happens before running the software. I expect it to work with PT or Logic.

When I plug the same Mbox into my slightly older Macbook Pro or Imac, it works just fine. Those Macs are on Snow Leopard. I don't know if the OS could cause a USB power problem. The USB port works with powered stuff I plug in like a powered hard drive. Have not tried anything else that requires as much power as the Mbox presumably does. Makes me think it could be a Mac hardware issue, but want to know if anyone has any ideas. Thanks.

Have you installed the (latest) drivers? A blinking blue light may just be a clock problem. You have to install the drivers and tell us what errors etc you also see in the driver control panel--if you get that far. Failing that tell us what else you have tried/see and more details of your Mac model etc. Version of the drivers you are loading etc.
