The Gateway/ 001 combo

Is there anyone here that happened to have bought the Gateway computer with PTLE on it and the 001?

A friend of mine did. Over TWO months ago. Guitar Center said they've had the computer for about a month but are can't get the 001. When I tried to buy my 001 back in March when they had it on sale along with the rebate from Digi they were out of them. I asked when they would receive more and they told me the following week. Out of the three GC's here in Dallas, not one of them has had the 001 in there store since before that "sale". For once my impatience paid off cause I bought it from American Musical Supply or I'd have still been waiting myself. Can someone from Digidesign possibly answer why Guitar Center can't get their hands on a 001? I can't see that it's Digi's fault as Guitar Center claims..
