Default Can't hear bounced audio files from PT 8, 003 Rack

I'm not sure what this issue it but here's the deal:

When I bounce a mix out of PT, and then launch the file, say in Quicktime, the audio will not play out of my 003 Rack even though the transport is running, the entire file duration shows in the bar, and my output is set to 003 HW outs.

But when I set my sound prefs to internal, the file plays and can be heard fine.

This is an annoying workaround so far and I wonder if anyone else deals/has dealt with this and what their solutions are?

Thanks!
