Default Avid HDX driver

Installed HDX into MP7.1 slot 5 with no interface connected.


Driver is installed (HD Driver 2020.12.)


Computer and Digitest not seeing HDX and and saying driver not installed.




Other issue is HDX card is invalid every time entered from Yellow card into Avid registration site. Entered correctly, sent pictures of card and invalid registration screen dump. Waiting for Avid to answer.

Default Avid HDX driver

Make sure the MacOS isn’t blocking the installation of the driver. Open the security control panel and keep an eye on in that while you install the driver again.

Nothing pops up in the security control panel but the panel does disappear during the install.



Same Computer/OS as what you are using.


Question: As mentioned above I'm not connected to an interface just looking at PCIe driver installation and for slot 5 showing no driver installed.

What about when you launch pro tools? Nothing listed under hardware?

Also, can you see the HDX card listed (as Other multimedia) from System Information -> PCI?

There is a known problem with HDX cards being recognised. It might be the issue. If you dig up the 2020.12 read me PDF on the avid website, it contains a couple of terminal commands to straighten it out.

I had several issues when trying to install the driver. I tried installing and uninstalling numerous times, no change. I thought I had missed the prompt when I was supposed to allow install on OSX.

Not sure why but what fixed my issues was uninstalling and deleting the disk image, then redownloading the driver from Avid. Once I tried an install with the “fresh” disk image it worked.

Yes....


Under the PCIe information for driver installed for slot #5 it says......"no".

Did this method and now noticed OS security blocking load....All good.



under system report PCI tab now show driver is installed by "yes" but hoovering over slot panel it still conveys generic audio? odd.


Digitest identified card and HDX checks out.




Computer identified HDX but not available in PT.

Avid support no where to be found.....
