Default Dumb question? repeat/duplicate any difference?

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to ask this 'cause repeat and duplicate seem to do the same thing, you get the same result, or am i wrong?? let me give you an example, I do a kick/snare simple take in pro-tools, then I choose to repeat this region 3 times, then I choose to duplicate this region 3 times also, the result is the same, so what's the difference between these 2, if there's any. just curious, thanks.

Hmmm... Reference Guide

Repeat: Specifies the number of duplicates.

Kind of funny how its always in the manual

Anyways remember to read "Duplicating Audio"
snip ....

"When using Duplicate (or Repeat) for audio that
must fall cleanly on the beat (such as rhythmic
loops), it is important that you select the audio
material with the Selector tool, or by typing in
the start and end points in the Event Edit area. If
you select an audio region with the Time Grabber
tool (or by double-clicking it with the Selector
tool), the material may drift by several ticks
because of sample-rounding."
