I have a live recording I did where everything was done in one session. I'm going to be making a new session for every song. Each song had a start and a stop, so it's not a continuous file for every track and every song.
I know "Save Session Copy In" would be the best option. This being said; if I check off the boxes that say "Selected Tracks Only" and "Selected Timeline Range Only", will this save all of the audio for that song and ALSO have them show up on the timeline in the correct spots starting at zero; i.e. edited clips will maintain their positions etc.? Or would I have to consolidate the clips if there are any edits? Either way, I assume it will start the song (and any automation if "Anchor All Automation Playlists" is selected) at zero?

I find it easier to delete (from the edit window) the files you dont want, then "clear/remove" "unused" from the audio list the files that were just deleted from the edit window, then "save copy in".
After the new session is saved copied, go back to original session and do the same for all the spawned sessions you want. Dont save the original session at any time during the process. Then you have the original, and a seperate single song session for all the songs. This is the smoothest way to get sessions to not share unwanted files. this mwthod allows you to keep all the track settings the same for the channels. |

Yes those options will save just the selection and they will be in the correct timeline position in the new session. Not at zero. Where ever they were in the original session.

Thanks for the reply! This works really great because it copies only the audio I need. The only thing you have to do is delete the mute automation that it writes in because (to my experience so far) it makes new mute automation points regardless of if they were there or not. This is if you decide to copy any automation that was there. So for example, if all of your tracks are not muted, it will write in those points on the edges of the audio. Not too big of a deal, as you just have to select everything and delete the mute automation.
