Power Mac G5 bus layout
I have a new gig doing audio and IT for a small shop. We are having IO issues with external drives on our Power Mac G5 with an HD system. I don't have details on the HD gear but can get it if it will help. Trying to find out more about how the busses are laid out on the G5. Are the PCI slots, FW400, and FW800 all separate busses? If I was to add a SATA card to slots with the HD cards would that cause bus contention issues?
Trying to get more details/documents on Apple hardware design, and Digi's requirements for storage systems and not having a lot of luck. Can anyone point me to some doc's on these topics. Thanks,

Re: Power Mac G5 bus layout
Saw one diagram and it looks like both the FW400 and FW800 are on same buss, so it will drop to speed of the slowest device. I thought only the low end Mac FW shared a bus???
