Default Does Pro tools require a separate audio disk>?

Hi
My hard drive is not partitioned and pro tools will not let me open a new session on it..."requires a separate audio disk"...
Does it need to be a completely new disk? Or can I change the setup to allow my main hard drive to be used for audio...?

Thanks
R.
